Join us in congratulating Deacon Chris Dorer, who was ordained to the Diaconate for the Diocese of Little Rock by Bishop Anthony Taylor on Saturday. Chris, his wife Samantha and daughter Allison have faithfully served Little Italy for over 40 years.

Today, we celebrate the commitment of this servant leader as Deacon Chris continues to serve St. Francis Catholic Church - Little Italy, Arkansas, now as the first vocation produced within the church and community. 

In explaining the Ordination to his fellow parishioners, Chris shared from the heart, saying, "concerning my ordination, in a lot of ways, not much on the surface will be different. I'll still be Chris, but as a deacon, I'll be a member of the clergy. The most significant change will be inside of me, through the grace imparted to me by God through Bishop Taylor. The word deacon means "servant"....Please know that you remain always in my daily prayers, and I ask for your prayers and patience as I transition into this new ministerial role".

Chris, thank you for making this commitment to your family, friends and neighbors! We celebrate with you, lift you and your family up in prayer and commit to serving alongside you for years to come. Thank you also to Father Hart and St. Francis parishioners for a beautiful mass and delicious meal to mark this historic day.
