It is with heavy hearts that the Tontitown Historical Museum (THM) Board shares the passing of our co-founder Charlotte Piazza. We truly have Charlotte and her husband, Henry Piazza, to thank for having a museum at all. Charlotte was born and spent her early years in Kansas. She and Henry visited many small-town museums as they traveled through her home state.
From these museums, they developed a vision of something similar for Tontitown and worked to make it happen in the mid-1980's. After opening in 1986, Charlotte served as the THM Curator for 30 years, retiring in 2016. She poured her heart and soul into preserving the rich Italian history of Tontitown. She spent countless hours volunteering her time and talents to help ensure our history was saved for future generations.
We are deeply indebted to Charlotte for so much, and are sincerely grateful. We send our sincere condolences and love to Henry and all of Charlotte's family. From the bottom of our hearts, "Grazie Mille, Charlotte! We will miss you!"
