Acting Fire Chief Nick DiNapoli was appointed leader of the Barstow Fire Protection District during a ceremony on Wednesday at City Hall. DiNapoli was given the fire agency’s main lead after serving with Barstow Fire for nearly 40 years and acting chief for nearly two years.
“Chief DiNapoli knows first hand what the Barstow community demands of its firefighters, and has given it his all during his over 30-years of service,” said Barstow Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2325. Retired Apple Valley and Barstow Fire Chief Sid Hultquist, 62, said it was an honor to attend the ceremony for his “friend and brother.”
