Tuesday February 11, 2020 at 6:00pm. Embassy of Italy, 3000 Whitehaven Street NW, Washington, DC 20008. Dress code: sparkling! Join us for an evening of luminous elegance as we explore the art of Italian fine jeweler Lucia Odescalchi. In conversation with Ilene Gutman, Deputy Director at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Lucia will let us enter her unique workshop, where the much sought-after pieces come to life before they can be appreciated all over the world.
Avant-garde in spirit, conceptual in shape, Lucia’s experimental creations are fearless in combining what is precious with high-tech materials. Gold, platinum, silver and precious stones are mixed and matched with silicone, resins and carbon fiber to craft her unique designs.
