In June 2013, the European Union and the United States announced their intention to negotiate the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), an ambitious free-trade deal that, if concluded, could dramatically affect the European and American economies. Vast in scope, the TTIP aims for regulatory harmonization and compatibility across a range of sectors as well as the elimination of tariffs and non-tariff barriers to trans-Atlantic trade.
Join us as we host the TTIP Town Hall, a program aimed at informing and facilitating public debate on the TTIP. A panel of international trade experts from the business, government and think-tank communities will share their extensive analyses on the TTIP and outline the benefits and challenges of a free-trade deal and its potential impact on businesses in Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania.
The town-hall gathering will also provide an opportunity for citizens to share their interests and concerns about the TTIP agreement, and ensure that their voices are heard in Washington and Brussels.
