A company that helped to spawn New Castle’s self-proclaimed status as Fireworks Capital of America is leaving town in February. Zambelli Fireworks International will move its corporate offices from 20 S. Mercer St. to the Thornhill Industrial Park in Cranberry Township, Butler County. The reason, according to human resources manager Sandy McStay, is that “We need better and different space. We need room for growth.”
McStay said that all 12 employees at the office here have been invited to move to the new location, and “all but one or two will be going.” She said the company’s fireworks plant, located off Garner Road in Edinburg, will remain in Lawrence County.
