Aquazzura, a high-end shoe retailer based in Italy, signed a 2,221-square-foot lease at 935 Madison Avenue for its first location in the United States, Commercial Observer has learned. The store will open February of next year at the base of the residential property between East 74th and 75th Streets.
The space includes 1,144 square feet on the ground floor and 1,077 square feet on the lower level. Asking rent in the 10-year deal was $1,000 per square foot, according to a source with knowledge of the deal. "We're thrilled that Aquazzura selected 935 Madison Avenue, as it's the perfect statement location for the brand's first U.S. store," Ariel Schuster of RKF, who represented landlord JZS Madison, said in a prepared statement.
