The Milanese showroom and offices of Mr&Mrs Italy have a certain air of the start-up company about them today. The apparel brand celebrated for its fur-lined parkas and luxury details – buttons, studs and patches in a variety of materials and styles – has gone from a €1.5 million turnover to an expected €31 million for 2016 in four years: not exactly the figures of a start-up, not any more; rather those of an SME of the sector, considering the average size of Italian fashion companies.
"We've grown a lot and fast, it's true, but have maintained our original spirit," said Andrea Bucalossi, owner and CEO of Mr&Mrs Italy. "I worked in finance for many years. When I joined the fashion world, I rediscovered the value of sharing ideas, of teamwork and synergy within a company, of apparently very different professionals partaking of the same vision."
