Since the days of Nobel Laureate Emilio Segrè, Italian researchers have played a prominent role in academic endeavors at UC Berkeley, in California, and in the United States. With this event (planned as the first in a series of discussions), we would like to share successful stories of Berkeley Italian researchers, stories that show how Italian culture goes far beyond food and fashion. It is also our hope that these stories will inspire Cal students to follow in the footsteps of our distinguished speakers.
From Economics to Biology, from Classics to Physics and Engineering, Italians have helped shape the directions of academic research in numerous fields. What could be the next great Italian contribution? Discover it with us!
