Luca Vullo, an Italian gestures specialist and filmmaker, is now a visiting professor of Italian Gestures at Mills College in Oakland for six weeks from the 26th of June to the 7th of August. As those familiar with Italian culture and language can tell you, i gesti italiani are impressively varied in their manifestations and meanings.
Professor Vullo is incorporating teachings about Pirandello and the dramatist's relationship with the Sicilian gestures. If his worldwide success in giving these gesture workshops is any indication, his classes in Oakland are not to miss.
