The Casa Italiana Sociocultural Center is pleased to announce its Italian Legacy Summer Grant Archival Project for 2023. We are looking for a capable student (graduate or undergraduate) who is living within the District of Columbia area who will work on an archive project at the Robert A. Facchina Italian American Museum of Washington DC located at 229 F Street.
We are seeking a self-starter who can work on an independent basis and can meet designated deadlines. We are offering a $5,000 Grant for the student to work 15 to 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule Monday through Thursday.
In this initial phase of our Archives Project, the student will inventory the Pino Cicala Collection which consists of around 300 file folders, which have been already indexed and posted online here. These folders contain clips, notes, newsletters, articles, etc., which pertain mostly to the Italian American community in the Washington DC area. The grant description, terms and application can be found on our website.
The deadline for applications is June 16th. For questions, contact CISC Board member Mary Ann Re.
