Prof. Maria Fusco, Director of the Education Office at the Embassy of Italy for almost eight years, was recently honored with a farewell reception organized by the Casa Italiana Sociocultural Center and Casa Italiana Ente Promotore . The reception was held at the art gallery of the Italian American Museum of Washington DC.
Guests included local teachers of Italian, school principals, Italian Embassy officials, and Board members of the Language School and the Museum. Ciro DeFalco, CISC chairman welcomed guests. President Francesco Isgro noted in his remarks that Prof. Fusco has been one of the most successful directors of education, and the “most supportive of our Italian and Italian American community.”
In 2021, Prof Fusco was honored by the Lido Civic Club for her contributions in promoting in the United States the Italian Language and the AP Italian Language and Culture Exam.
