Antonella Vitale, PhD candidate in the Department of History at City University of New York, will present a piece of her dissertation, focused on the oral histories she gathered in Sicily last summer, at an upcoming conference at the University of Pennsylvania. Antonella was a winner of NOIAW's 2015 scholarship program.
Antonella said via e-mail, "The NOIAW scholarship helped provide funds for travel to Sicily last summer where I was able to conduct interviews and further my research in the archives. With NOIAW's help I have had the opportunity to work on three chapters of my dissertation this fall, a big step forward in writing and finishing my dissertation. NOIAW has ultimately contributed to my dream of earning my PhD and making a significant contribution to Italian scholarship."
