Eastern Upper Peninsula golf enthusiasts will meet this Saturday near Sault Ste. Marie to raise money that will help some students pay for college. Tanglewood Marsh Golf Course will host the 4th annual Christopher Columbus Italian-American Society Golf Tournament, an event that began when organization members wanted to raise money to endow a scholarship at LSSU.
The event has since evolved, and money raised this year will fund one scholarship for a LSSU student and another for a student choosing to attend any institution. "We appreciate the community support and would like to see everybody out there," said Joe Susi, a member of the society's Board of Directors.
