The Italian professors from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee organized an Italian Day. Students in Ms. Sabrina’s second and third grade full Italian Immersion class were invited to participate. Victory students arrived at the student Union and were greeted by the team of Italian professors.
Victory students were given a guided tour of the campus library and then the students walked across campus to Curtin Hall to meet with the college students studying Italian. The college students teamed up with the elementary students for various activities: they played tombola, watched part of the movie “Pinocchio,” designed t-shirts, and enjoyed a picnic style lunch. The Italian professors and college students were impressed with the elementary students’ Italian skills. The hope is that this is just the beginning of a new collaboration between the UWM Italian Department and Victory K8 and Milwaukee Italian Immersion School.
