Sofia Carozza, of South Bend, has been named valedictorian of the 2019 University of Notre Dame graduating class. She is a 2015 graduate of Saint Joseph’s High School in South Bend. Carozza will present the valedictory address during the May 19 commencement ceremony in Notre Dame Stadium.
She is a neuroscience and behavior major in the College of Science, with a supplemental major in theology and a minor in philosophy, politics and economics in the College of Arts and Letters. She has a 4.0 grade point average. In December, Carozza was awarded a Marshall Scholarship that she will use to study neuroscience at the University of Cambridge in England.
