Italian President Sergio Mattarella at the Johnson Space Center: “A source pride for Italy”

The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, was in Houston, the last leg of his visit in the USA, and visited the Johnson Space Center where NASA has its Mission Control Center and from where all space voyages are directed.


President Mattarella was welcomed upon arrival by Susan Anderson, Head of Protocol of NASA, and visited the Center accompanied by Italian astronauts Samantha Cristoforetti, Roberto Vittori, Paolo Nespoli, Luca Parmitano and Walter Villadei, and by representatives from the Sonny Carter Training Facility, the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory, the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility and the Christopher C. Kraft, Jr. Mission Control Centers.
