Made-in-Italy technology conquers America and flies to Boston. As of early 2024, in fact, the avatar named Katherine created by QuestIT will be a new employee at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Katherine is the first avatar in the healthcare industry to be equipped with Large Language Model and thus able to understand and communicate medical language.

Thanks to these abilities she will be able to converse with patients and develop a detailed clinical picture that will be shared with a team of live professionals. The avatar will help physicians at Massachusets General Hospital with a view to the Raising Healthy Hearts program focusing in particular on the cardiovascular health of children and adolescents aged 18 and under from risk factors such as hypertension and high cholesterol.

From a purely operational standpoint, Massachusetts General Hospital will forward an email communication to a specific sample of families, especially, those with children and adolescents under the age of 18. These young people, identified through prior research and analysis, have manifested risk factors for their heart health such as resting hypertension, high cholesterol, and sleep-related problems. To address these sensitive situations, families will be asked to fill out two questionnaires by clicking a link contained right in the email.

The first aims to understand the habits, especially eating habits, of patients, while the second delves into their social and psychological spheres. Once the link is clicked, a user-friendly screen will open with Katherine guiding them to fill out the documents quickly and naturally. Once the process is completed, the data will be collected and forwarded to a team of live professionals composed of cardiologists, nutritionists and psychologists. These, based on the needs of those affected, will devise tailored therapies useful for improving the overall well-being of those affected.
