Critical studies on the Italian canzone d'autore and popular music are becoming numerous, often intertwining society, music and poetry. Please, consider submitting an abstract for the next NeMLA Annual Convention, held from March 17 to 20, 2016 in Hartford, CT, for the panel: "New Perspectives on the Italian canzone d'autore and Popular Music."
This panel proposes to continue the conversation and to reflect on the status of the art, while defining possible academic approaches to this engaging field of interdisciplinary scholarship. Proposals of up to 250 words can be in English or Italian and must be submitted by September 30, 2015 through the NeMLA website: http://www.cfplist.com//nemla/Home/S/15638
