The Waterbury Chapter of UNICO National announced that 14 students from the greater Waterbury are are scheduled to receive $1,000 awards at Unico’s annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony. Since 1922, high-school graduates of Italian descent have been recognized for their excellence in scholastic and community activities.
The 2022 recipients are Ava Andolena of Naugatuck (Holy Cross); from Waterbury, Alyssa Colangelo, Nicholas Sarracco, Maizel Strong (Holy Cross); Cameron Sivilla of Litchfield (Holy Cross); Angelina Bernardi of Middlebury (Pomperaug); Giovanna DelBuono of Middlebury (Westover); Giuliana Dorso of Thomaston, Julia Mehlin of Waterbury (both of Waterbury Arts Magnet School); Damien Josephson of Waterbury (Kennedy High School); Nicholas Mirabilio-Mulhall of Prospect (St. Paul); from Waterbury, Brendan Poudrier, Nathan Stellmach, and Sydney Sirica of Oakville (St. Paul).
