We have been informed that Dr. Angelo Gimondo, an extraordinary lifelong educator, passed away on December 11, 2021, surrounded by his wife Sonia, his children and his loving family. Angelo was a key founder and city-wide chairman of (IHCM) Italian Heritage and Culture Month, and President of (IACE) Italian American Committee on Education.
The current President, Berardo Paradiso stated, “We have lost a friend : Dr. Angelo Gimondo , a man who believed in the value of preserving and promoting the Italian language and culture in The Tristate area. He was a great educator and a great Italian American leader. Angelo Gimondo was the founder and the Chairman of the IACE : we salute his achievement over the past 45 years. Riposa in Pace amico mio, you touched many lives in your career, your smile and your graciousness are engraved in our hearts.”
