After more than 50 years as a teacher, professor Michael D'innocenzo will receive a lifetime achievement award from the Association of Italian American Educators.
All but two of the 56 years that D'innocenzo has spent as a teacher have been spent at Hofstra University, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported.
"Studying American history is the greatest emphasis on freedom and opportunity for people no matter their backgrounds," D'innocenzo said of his years as an educator.
