
Senator Andrew Lanza & The New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators are now accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded at the Annual Italian-American Day in Albany. There are academic and athletic scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each. Scholarships are available to eligible residents of the 24th Senate District who are current college students or high school seniors entering college.
Students who apply for the Academic Scholarship must: 1) have demonstrated a grade point average of 85 and over, 2) have good conduct and demonstrate the dedication to pursue and complete a higher education, 3) are active in the community and extracurricular activities, 4) reside within the 24th Senate district, and 5) can demonstrate financial need. In addition to these qualifications, students applying for an Athletic Scholarship must also be involved in an organized sport(s). Students can apply for both opportunities.
