Aiming to promote culture and language, the Italian Consulate General in New York is working on a new initiative aimed at creating an English-Italian bilingual section in New York public schools.
The Consulate General will develop this project under the Two-Way Bilingual Education Program, an instructional design model outlining methods for the integration of limited English speakers and native English speakers. It was implemented by the state of New York in 2010. Not only will this new plan develop bilingual proficiency, it will promote academic integrity for all students involved.
