The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), an internationally renowned college of art and design, business and technology, of the State University of New York, invites nominations and applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Modern Languages and Cultures Department of the School of Liberal Arts.
The successful candidate specializes in pedagogy related to foreign language acquisition and must possess the skills to develop initiatives for program growth, contribute to a coherently articulated program of instruction in Italian across levels of competency, design, prepare, implement, and evaluate syllabi, assist with the development and administration of assessment instruments, participate in professional development program and mentor students. The candidate should demonstrate a concrete record of research and publication, excellence in teaching and collegiality, and will also be expected to perform departmental and college service. Also desirable is a willingness to organize cultural activities for students both in and outside of the classroom.
