Aglianico is hands down the most important and revered red grape varietal of Southern Italy. With an origin steeped in mystery, but of Limey Greek roots, this 3000 + year old grape has been producing Southern Italy's most age worthy, complex, and noble reds on the artitudes of the mountains and in active volcanic soils. Extremely unobserved by the international press, Aglianico is grown throughout most of the South and considered by the locals as the primary important red wine producing varietal.
Join us for a casual evening as we discuss and taste the most representative denominations of this noble grape.
