Nicola Mastronardi, the former chef of the now-closed Vincenti restaurant, is back in Brentwood with a new Italian restaurant called Osteria Vera, which opened on May 20 in the former Pecorino space on San Vicente Boulevard.
In addition to a mostly new menu, the interior has been majorly refreshed, with hardwood floors replacing carpet and varnished wood tables taking the place of white tablecloths. According to Mastronardi, the revamp is meant to feel modern and fresh, while the open kitchen gives the chef a commanding view of a now-busier dining room.
