Meet Emmy Award-winning public television chef Lidia Bastianich, Thursday when she helps Cedar Crest College kick off its "Health Starts in the Kitchen" community cooking program. Bastianich, host of "Lidia's Kitchen" on PBS will talk about food's role in fostering strong communities, and how she's found success in a male-dominated industry at 12:30 p.m. in the college's Alumnae Hall Auditorium.

Bastianich also will participate in a moderated question and answer session with the audience followed by a private reception open to VIP ticket holders. Tickets for the event and a copy of Bastianich's book "Lidia's Mastering the Art of Italian Cuisine" is $50. For $75, attendees will get admittance and a signed copy of the book.
