Talayan’s Italian Restaurant has an upcoming anniversary celebrating 36 years in business. Current owners of Talayna’s is Mehi and Susan Rouhani. They have owned and managed the restaurant for 36 years. As a husband and wife team, one of them, if not both of them are at the restaurant on a daily basis training and working with staff, visiting with vendors and customers.
Talayna’s is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, family owned pizzerias in the St. Louis Metro area. Through various discussions with Rouhani, he states that there are records that indicate that the restaurant was serving pizzas described as the famous St. Louis-Style Pizza popularized by a couple of local restaurants, years before it was owned by the Rouhanis’.
