For the first time as owner of Quartina Trattoria and Vineria, Giuseppe Cinque has reached into his collection of vintage Christmas figures from his Italian childhood and created a traditional nativity scene at his Washington Street restaurant.
Known as a Presepe, a popular Christmas display in the Napoli region of Italy, Cinque has gathered more than 30 pieces from his collection of more than 200 miniature peasant figures. "The Christmas tree is popular in northern Italy, but in southern Italy, where I am from, the presepe -- a nativity scene like this is popular," Cinque said.
