Lenny Manchisi is realizing his dream — and so are lovers of traditional Italian cuisine. Manchisi, a longtime city resident and restaurateur, recently opened Caffe Italia, a place where he says, “the heart and soul of Italy come to life in the heart of Shelton.”
“Everything here is authentic … all quality, from our retail products to our coffee, our pastries and gelato,” said Manchisi while sitting outside his café at 813 River Road, which sits only a few miles from his home. “We’re not just some franchise. We’ve done our best to recreate that old ‘mom and pop shop’ from days gone by.”
