Washington Square is about to get yet another coffee shop. In addition to Athan's, Café Fixe, Starbucks and Dunkin, a London-based family owned chain of coffee houses is slated to make its Brookline debut in the store space that was once occupied by 7-Eleven and Square Market convenience store before it went empty for the past few months.
Still it will be a while before Brookline residents will have another option in Washington Square. The company just signed the lease on the space this week, which means with construction and renovation it could be spring of 2017 before customers will get a chance to cozy up with a cup of the Italian-style coffee.
