The mansion at the corner of Prytania Street and Jackson Avenue is flanked by white columns, framed by twisting oaks, fronted by a staircase big enough for the whole bridal party and dripping with a steamboat's load of cast iron. As a vignette of old Southern grandeur, it's classic.
