Europe’s highest mountain ranges – the Dolomites and the Alps are among the countless attractions that Italy offers to its visitors. On their snow-covered slopes are some of Europe’s most famous ski resorts. The most skiable terrain and the broadest range of opportunities are in the Dolomites, where 12 major ski areas total more than 1,200 kilometers of ski trails.
In Italy, the ski season runs from December to April. Italy is generally cheaper and quieter than France or Austria, so you can look forward to less crowded slopes during the week – especially if you avoid peak holidays.
