The summer is coming, and Italy is getting ready to welcome millions of people eager to enjoy its beauty. This is nothing new, as the essential role of tourism in the country’s economy and welfare is well known.
Indeed, tourism significantly contributes to both Italy’s GDP and employment: in 2019, before the pandemic, Italy attracted over 94 million international tourists, making it one of the top tourist destinations globally.
