Cycling tourism continues to grow in our country. It is not just a choice for enthusiasts but increasingly a transversal tourist experience capable of attracting a wider audience. In 2024, cycling tourism recorded a small boom both in terms of attendance, estimated at 89 million (+54% compared to 2023), and its economic impact, which reached nearly 9.8 billion euros.
Cycling tourism confirms itself as one of the main trends in the "new demand" for tourism in Italy, representing more than 10% of total tourists in the country. This phenomenon is assuming increasing importance in terms of redirecting tourist flows toward towns and inland areas, generating new opportunities for economic growth, employment, and even the revitalization of many abandoned structures and assets that, thanks to this new demand, are coming back to life, from the North to the South of the country.
