Luigi Vanvitelli created The Royal Palace of Caserta and park according to the demands of Charles of Bourbon III. It is one of the greatest Italian architectures of the 18th century and combines the influences of Versailles, Rome, and Tuscany.
Many people consider Caserta an Italian baroque accomplishment. The garden’s ponds, fountains, and waterfalls span 11 ac (0.05 km squared) and are arranged in a telescope effect, extending as far as the eye can view.
