Bellucci Premium, producer of quality olive oil, responds to the recent passing of a bill in California that will establish an olive oil commission. According to an article published on September 10th by The Olive Oil Times titled "Bill to Create California Olive Oil Commission Clears Senate," the bill will allow California to establish a commission that will help strengthen the olive oil industry's practices.
The bill was originally introduced on April 16th to the Senate Agricultural Committee, and it was recently approved unanimously. Senator Lois Wolk, who is also Chair of the Agriculture Subcommittee, submitted the bill. Wolk says in the article, "Establishing this commission is a vital first step toward protecting consumers and providing California's olive oil industry a fair playing field where they can grow and thrive."
