On Sunday, the 18th of August 2019, Chairman of the Italian premium sports car manufacturer, Ferrari NV, headquartered in Maranello, Italy, John Elkann said in a gathering of classic car enthusiasts at the automaker’s golf resort beside the Pacific coast, that, the 72-year-old luxury car maker had been looking to balloon its sales of easy-to-drive grand touring cars, adding that the Maranello-based carmaker would unlikely to chase its rival Porsche’s annual sales volume.
Aside from expanding Ferrari’s fleet of road cars, the Ferrari Chair had also been quoted saying at Sunday’s (August 18th) gathering that the FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV), the Italian-American luxury car manufacturer, which is also chaired by Elkann, that the FCA remained open to a merger deal with other automotive industry players.
