A film by director Laura Luchetti and set in Sardinia, which tells a love story between two adolescents - one an illegal African migrant and the other the daughter of a migrant trafficker - is set to hit Italian theatres in June. The film, "Twin Flower", stars Kallil Kone and Anastasyia Bogach in debut performances.
The Sardinian frontier portrayed in the movie makes it seem almost like a Western, in Luchetti's second feature-length film. The adolescents meet in Sardinia and undertake a dangerous journey across the island's deserts, forests, and mysterious pathways, as seen through the lens of Ferran Paredes Rubio.
