I think we all agree on this: Palermo is one of Italy’s most beautiful cities. Crossroad between East and West, it is a melting pot of cultures, people, flavors and colors. It is reminiscent of the Middle East like no other place in the country and, for this reason alone, it would be magical already. But it has so much more.
For instance, did you know it has the largest historic centre in Europe? Well… some Italians would disagree, mentioning Genoa and Naples as more likely winners, but UNESCO thinks differently: Palermo’s Old Town is the biggest and only Lisbon’s can compete with it.
