Forbes has compiled the 2023 ranking of Italy's paperoni. It confirms (by far) the richest Giovanni Ferrero, with a net worth $39.1 billion. And it's a boom of billionaires, with the "club" enlarging with 20 more people than a year ago: today there are 70 paperoni.
In second place is Giorgio Armani with a fortune of $12.9 billion, less than a third of that of "Mr. Nutella," who is currently the 32nd richest person in the world and the fifth richest in Europe. The podium is completed by Piero Ferrari, son of Enzo, with $7.6 billion. The total sum of their assets is $230.1 billion, nearly $70 billion more than at the end of 2022.
The first woman on the list, in fourth place, is Massimiliana Landini Aleotti, owner of the pharmaceutical company Menarini, who has assets of $6.8 billion. Also making the top 10 are Sergio Stevanato and family, Patrizio Bertelli, Miuccia Prada, Giuseppe De'Longhi and family, Giuseppe Crippa and family, and Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone. Among Berlusconi's heirs, Marina and Pier Silvio are ranked 38th, and Barbara, Eleonora and Luigi are ranked 67th.
