Positive summer figures for Italian tourism. The geo-political situation in North Africa and in the Eastern Mediterranean has significantly increased the flows from abroad. "In the months of June and July," comments Renzo Iorio, the President of Federturismo-Confindustria, "there was an increase of 19% in foreigners compared to the same months in the previous year with an explosion from Japan and the United States that - though with different measures - marked respectively a +374% and a +205% in arrivals."
According to revelations by Federturismo, the performances of Switzerland and Great Britain were also excellent, driven by strong currencies compared to the euro, that produced a +84% and a +63% of arrivals in Italy.
