Six weeks ago I had an interesting email from a friend in Florence, Italy. He asked that I return the message asking me to accept a position with the Italian Federation of American Football (FIDAF). The intent was a collaboration on my part to upgrade the awareness and quality of our game in Italy. It was a significant offer on their part and met my personal pledge to help football grow around the world.
While futbol (soccer) is more popular everywhere but the U.S., the sport continues to grow in all corners of the globe. There is an International Federation of American Football (IFAF) with a membership of 62 countries and even a World Cup event every four years.
