The Farfalle Azzurre fly again and on the last day of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan, they won the gold medal in the hoops and clubs competition with 42.275 points. Beat Russia (40.950 points) and the hosts Japan (40.900). This is the tenth gold ever for Italy in a Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships.

But not only. Martina Centofanti, Alessia Maurelli, Martina Santandrea, Agnese Duranti and Daniela Mogurean, already winners of the bronze medal in Tokyo 2020, also won the silver medal in the five-ball specialty, climbing in the final the positions that saw them start from the fourth place obtained in the qualifications, with an elegant and impeccable exercise on the notes of Butterfly Ninja by Maxime Rodriguez.

So there are five medals won by the Farfalle during the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Kitakyushu, where the Azzurre won the silver medal also in the all around and in the team ranking and the 17-year-old Sofia Raffaeli, at her debut in the senior category and already winner of three silver medals at the World Juniors Championships in 2019, won the bronze medal in the hoop specialty. A historic result for Italian rhythmic gymnastics, because never before had any Italian girl managed to conquer the individual podium in the specialty.
