Test driving a Ferrari in Italy at high speeds may be a dream many car enthusiasts (and adrenaline junkies) share, especially after seeing Ron Howard's recent film, the Formula One racing drama "Rush."
Perillo Tours' ItalyVacations.com recently introduced Drive the Dream Italia, a tour that takes travelers to the Ferrari test track in Maranello in the Emilia-Romagna region, where they will have the opportunity to test-drive a Ferrari F430 Coupe.
The four-day itinerary also includes visits to Bologna, Parma, Modena and the medieval village of Torrechiara, stops at the Ferrari Gallery Museum or the Casa Enzo Ferrari Museum, and a tasting tour at the producers of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, prosciutto di Parma and balsamic vnegar.
The package starts at $1,380 per person, based on double occupancy, and includes three nights at a five-star hotel, ground transportation, an English-speaking guide and daily breakfast. A 10-minute (short) circuit for one person is covered in the price, but another driver and a different car and track may be selected for an additional cost. Guests can also rent a vintage car.
