"Made in Italy" goods ranked in second place after US-made products in terms of the number of counterfeit pieces seized in OECD countries in 2011, 2012 and 2013, according to a new study.
The result of 18 months of work, the new study, entitled Trade in Counterfeit and Pirated Goods: Mapping the Economic Impact , estimates the economic effects of counterfeiting and piracy on international trade, taking into account the figures supplied by the World Customs Organization , by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union and by the US Department of Homeland Security.
