The meetings industry is a rapidly growing sector, capable of generating positive economic impact on the venues and regions involved. The sector attracts over 27 million participants annually from all over the world, contributing to a total spending of nearly 9 billion euros.
42% of the spending is related to accommodation, while 29.9% is attributed to transportation expenses incurred within Italy. This includes long-distance domestic and regional travel (air, rail, and road transport) as well as local transport (mainly buses and taxis). The organization of events and conferences attracts numerous international participants who, upon arriving in Italy, create a virtuous cycle for the sector and the country's economy.
