I've often said Italy as a country produces the best designed and crafted jewelry in the world. Whether mass marketed or bespoke the tradition of jewelry making in the country, the number and variety of pieces, and the jewelry-manufacturing infrastructure is unsurpassed.

However, there are signs that the jewelry industry isn't advancing. That true innovation hasn't been seen in a number of years.
