The 18 Italian films vying to compete for the Best International Feature Film nomination at the 2024 Oscars have been officially selected. These titles aspire to represent Italy at the 97th Academy Awards, in the prestigious International Feature Film Award category.
The nominated films had their first distribution in Italy or abroad (excluding the United States) between November 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024. The final decision on which film will be chosen will take place on September 24, 2024.
The Academy is scheduled to announce the shortlist on December 17, 2024, while the official nominations will be announced on January 17, 2025. The Oscars ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on March 2, 2025. These films represent the best of Italian film production, with a wide variety of genres and stories capable of striking both domestic and international audiences.
